The Harsimus Cove Assocaiton was satisfied with neither the location nor the time of the public hearing regarding the closing of the Pulaski Skyway's inbound lanes for two years while the span is repaired. We wrote a letter to Assemblyman Ruben Ramos who represents the 33rd District and also sits on the Transportation, Public Works and Independent Authorities committee. We have asked for another hearing.

At our general member meeting on February 11, I presented an annual report about HCA's usage of SeeClickFix.com to report and manage quality of life issues in Harsimus Cove. Take a look at our stats and our observations on how it's gone so far.

Not only are we reporting abandoned TVs to the City, we're also doing a bit of community education in the process.

The Harsimus Cove Association (HCA) submitted a comprehensive graffiti audit on Thursday, September 27 to the Jersey City Incinerator Authority's (JCIA) Anti-Graffiti Task Force. The report includes details for each graffiti offense including a description, a photo and any comments that have been added to the issue since it was first recorded on SeeClickFix.com, a website that the HCA uses to track quality of life issues within the Harsimus Cove neighborhood.

It's only a few days left until our biggest event of the year, the 2nd Annual Afternoon of Fright on 4th Street. But to make it a truly successful community event, we need your help. Most of the activities are accounted for but volunteers are urgently needed with the following.

The Harsimus Cove Association wants to guarantee the highest and best use of 8 Erie Street for all of our residents. As bad as the City is in need of money, the purchase price of $4 million is hardly adequate or ‘fair market value.’ We must begin to think long-term and not throw away the opportunity to do what is right for our neighborhood—not just for today, but for the future.
