Meeting was called to order by Mike Francisco, president
Board members were introduced
New attendees were acknowledged
 
2. Old Business
 
2.1 Sixth Street Embankment
 
Maureen gave an update and stated she is cautiously optimistic. Nothing has yet been signed.  Neighborhood associations are encouraged to write letters to County Open Space.
 
3. New Business
 
3.1 Reviving JC Environmental Commission
Neighborhood Associations are urging mayor to appoint an environmental commission. Discussion followed.  Neighborhood Associations taking this to their general membership this month.
 
3.2 Planned events – Fundraiser ideas
Agenda item was skipped
 
3.3 HCA farmer’s market
Eric Fleming proposed an HCA Farmer's market on weekends / Saturday.  It was mentioned as a possible revenue opportunity for the Association.  Next step is for Eric to talk to the city.
 
3.4 Proposed gas pipeline
Chris Summerhayes from Senator Lautenberg's office gave some detail about a proposed gas pipeline that would run through Jersey City.  Extensive discussion followed.  Not much detail is known about the path of the proposed pipeline
 
3.5 Proposed property tax increase
This agenda item was bypassed and discussed in Steve Fulop's speaking time.
 
Carol Lester announced her candidacy for school board.
 
It was mentioned that the DCNA is sponsoring a school board candidates forum.
